Second Victim Identified In Fatal Newhall Crash

The second victim of a fatal collision that occurred Tuesday night in Newhall has been identified by Coroner’s officials.

Moises Hernandez, 33, of Santa Clarita, was identified as the second of two men killed after the vehicle they were traveling in hit a power pole on Sierra Highway, said Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office

The other victim was identified Tuesday as Noah David Murphy, 24, said Lt. Ed Winters.

Hernandez and Murphy were the driver and front passenger in the vehicle, and both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

A third man, a rear passenger, was transported by Los Angeles County Fire Department officials to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in critical condition, said Art Marrujo, LACoFD dispatch supervisor.

The third victim’s identity and current condition were still unknown Thursday morning.

The collision remains under investigation by officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
