On Saturday, May 27, over 23 unique slides and attractions for families will be open at the park.

“Hurricane Harbor continues to be the perfect summer spot for water lovers of all ages,” said Bonnie Sherman Weber, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor park president.

The new season once again showcases the park’s newest slide, which was added last June: the Python Plunge.

This is a colorful, one-of-a-kind, three-slide complex featuring two enclosed coiled slides and one enclosed speed slide that empty out into the sprawling Lizard Lagoon.

More attractions the park has to offer are:

  • The Bonzai Pipelines: A speed slide with two side-by-side shoots that feature a unique launching capsule system on Black Sake Summit. After reaching the top of the five-story  tower, guests step into the enclosed vertical capsule where the floor drops out beneath them, sending riders free-falling 40 miles-per-hour down the slide. Black Snake Summit also has two enclosed body slides and two tube slides.
  • Tornado: A four-person ride where riders begin their experience 75 feet in the air by blasting down a 132-foot long tunnel, leading to the mammoth, open-ended funnel.
  • Taboo Tower: A 75-foot-tall tower featuring three speed water slides, including one that features a 45-degree straight drop.
  • Bamboo Racer: A six-lane racing attraction that places riders head first, side-by-side, on specially designed water toboggans, then speed down the 45-foot tall water slides.

Hurricane Harbor has attractions for people of all ages such as the Lizard Lagoon, a relaxation area for teens and young adults that includes a three-and-a-half foot deep recreational pool, basketball hoops, water volleyball and lounge chairs all beneath shade structures and palm trees.

For kids, the Castaway Cove is a specially-designed water play area for kids under 54 inches  featuring the secluded tide pools of Octopus Island, where the giant eight-legged creature guards the region’s hidden treasures squirting water from its ears and cockeyed hat.

Cabana Cove, Splash Island, Tiki Falls and Lost Temple are all family attractions designed for relaxation and thrills to be enjoyed together. The Drive-In Movies attraction kicking off on Monday, May 20 features family-friendly movies in the Forgotten Sea. The first movie of the season will be Jaws beginning at 4 p.m.
