Closures are scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 and end at approximately 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Soledad Canyon Road will have a hard closure between Schooner’s Plaza and Commuter Way. The only traffic allowed through will be emergency vehicles.

Throughout Tuesday, Oct. 23, there will be intermittent lane closures along Soledad Canyon Road in that stretch, where lanes may be reduced to one in each direction.

“We do not have exact times for those, but drivers should plan for extra time through that area,” said Kevin Strauss,
Communications Specialist for the City.

Drivers can expect single-lane closures both eastbound and westbound on Soledad Canyon Road in front of the Saugus Speedway during the day on Tuesday.

Soledad Canyon Road will have hard closures in effect at Commuter Way, as well as Schooner’s Plaza, according to City officials.

During the hard closure and intermittent lane closures, drivers will still be able to access businesses and residences in the affected areas.

“The Metrolink Station at Commuter Way will remain open during the hard closure, but it will only be accessible if you are approaching from the east (going westbound),” said Strauss. “For example, you will not be able to get to the Metrolink Station if you turn onto Soledad from Bouquet. You will need to use the detour and go westbound on Soledad from Valley Center.”

The detour that will be in place for drivers includes Valley Center Drive, Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road.

City officials are advising commuters to plan ahead when traveling during the closures or to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

Residents have also been notified about the construction of a temporary film set that was scheduled to take place at the Saugus Speedway parking lot from Saturday, Oct. 20 through Tuesday, Oct. 23.
