The Sun Fire was reported in the Sunshine Canyon Landfill Thursday, and has reached at least two acres, officials said.

The blaze is not currently threatening any structures and is contained within the landfill, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The Sun Fire was reported at 3 p.m. Thursday, near the corner of Sunshine Canyon Mountain Way and Weldon Mountain Way in Newhall.

The brush fire is in a “mutual aid zone” with both Los Angeles County Fire and Los Angeles City Fire personnel responding to the incident.
