Abelquin Torres, 43, first fled from officers around 7 p.m. Tuesday after allegedly refusing to pull over when she was flagged for speeding, said CHP Officer Peter Nicholson.
The pursuit went through San Diego County, Orange County and ended in Los Angeles County on the northbound I-5 near Magic Mountain Parkway.
When the pursuit entered the California Highway Patrol Newhall Division’s jurisdiction, CHP officers decided to deploy a spike strip near McBean Parkway, according to officials.

“The vehicle was successfully spike-stripped just south of Valencia Boulevard,” said CHP Sgt. Chris Cabral Tuesday night.
The pursuit ended shortly after the suspect’s vehicle hit the spike strip, according to officials.
“The vehicle came to a stop and numerous commands were given, but to no avail,” Cabral said. “At that time we decided to offer the less lethal shotgun, which is a bean bag deployment, which we took out the right rear window (with) in order to gain compliance.”
The non-lethal bean bag deployment worked, he said.
“After numerous commands, she did put up her hands and was taken into custody,” Cabral said.
Torres was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where all suspects arrested by CHP Newhall officers are booked. According to Sheriff’s officials, she refused to answer basic intake questions given to all arrested suspects.
It is unclear at this time whether she will stay in Santa Clarita or be transported back to the El Cajon area.
