It is unknown exactly when Michael McGlothan’s trial will begin, said Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey after a pretrial hearing for the case was continued to June 22.

McGlothan, a 53-year-old Santa Clarita resident, was arrested in June 2015 after leading authorities on a nationwide manhunt.

The manhunt began after McGlothan was identified as the main suspect in a shooting that killed Ledarion Allen Jr., 21, of Lancaster and injured Shatari Shene Cooks, 30, in a Canyon Country apartment about two years ago.

McGlothan was caught less than a month later when he was stopped near a highway toll booth on the New York State Thruway in western New York, according to a statement from the police department’s Buffalo office.

He is being charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
