Two Earthquakes Jolt Santa Clarita Valley Residents Saturday

Two earthquakes were reported just before 8 a.m. Saturday morning, according to USGS officials.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was reported at 7:54 a.m. just two minutes after a 2.7 magnitude earthquake.

Both were epicentered in Granada Hills but many Santa Clarita Valley residents reported feeling the quake.

The first earthquake in the area was at 2.1 magnitude at 7:46 a.m. Saturday morning, followed by the 2.7 magnitude at 3.1 magnitude earthquakes, according to the USGS. Two 1.2 magnitude earthquakes occurred in the area at 7:57 a.m. and 7:59 a.m.
