Lynette Vannoy last saw her 23-year-old daughter Chelsea Vannoy on Jan. 13, she said. Her family lives near Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, off Orchard Village Road.

Sheriff’s Department officials confirmed a report was received at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Jan. 22. All missing persons reports are investigated  by detectives within the department’s Homicide Bureau, which confirmed a report had been received Jan. 23.

Lynette was concerned because it’s unusual for Chelsea to leave for such a long time without notice, and she did not pack any belongings before she left, she said.

Detectives confirmed Friday the report is being investigated.
