A gas line rupture in the vicinity of Iron Canyon Road in Canyon Country forced the evacuations of four residences. The gas lines have been repaired.

Continued heavy rainfall has forced the temporary closure of Sand Canyon Road between Lost Canyon Road and Placerita Canyon Road. The road closure will be lifted shortly after road conditions have been deemed safe.

There has also been a closure of Soledad Canyon Road, between Agua Dulce Canyon Road to Crown Valley Road. Bouquet Canyon Road is closed from 2 miles North of Vasquez Canyon Road to 5.5 miles North of Vasquez Canyon Road. Hasley Canyon Road is closed at Del Valle Road due to flooding.

More rain is expected during the evening hours. Throughout the day there have been a number of downed trees and downed power lines due to the strong winds. If you see downed power lines stay away and call 9-1-1.

Several roads in Placerita Canyon are still closed at the Arizona crossings. Those streets include Meadview Avenue, Quigley Canyon Road, Golden Oak Lane, Choke Cherry Lane and Oak Creek Avenue. DO NOT attempt to drive through standing or moving water.

Residents in areas prone to flooding are being asked to SHELTER IN PLACE and should be aware that they may not have access in or out of their neighborhood during the storm. Access will not be restored until the water has receded and it is safe to pass.

The Flood Advisory and Flash Flood Watch remained in effect. Stay away from washes and rivers and avoid driving through canyons, where there is a high possibility of rock and debris flows.

If you experience flash flooding, move to higher ground and/or the highest point in the house. Stay out of riverbeds and flood control channels during the storm. Water flow during storm is unpredictable and dangerous. Dial 9-1-1 if you see someone caught in a flood control channel.
