The conference was held from Jan. 13-16 and invited the Valencia DECA chapter, consisting of 16 Valencia High students, to participate in the competition’s 23 categories, which included role-playing in real life scenarios and a 100-question test on business knowledge.

A few of the many students who placed first in the series of categories include Valencia DECA president Mark Gray, who won first place in Business Services Marketing, Tim Ahn, who won in the Accounting Applications Series and Pablo Gratas who placed first in the Automotive Services Marketing Series.

Several other students placed in different other categories, some of which include the Restaurant and Food Service Management Series, the Food Marketing Series event and the Human Resources Management Series.

Other Valencia members who did not place in competitions were awarded honorable mentions for placing in the top 8 of their categories.
