Filled with activities for children, especially younger ones, the event is designed to give families a chance to enjoy the 20-foot-tall holiday tree lighting, as well as a visit from Santa and the KHTS fire truck, both of which are popular for family holiday photos.
“It’s our second annual community tree-lighting ceremony, and this is a new tradition that started last year in the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Connie Cashin, marketing director for Valencia Marketplace, “where we had choral groups from local schools perform.”
High school groups, such as the West Ranch High choral group, are scheduled to perform during the 5-8 p.m. event, which will take place around 6:45 p.m.
“Parents can take pictures with their kids on the KHTS Fire Truck, and it makes a great background for holiday pictures,” Cashin added.
The Stevenson Ranch Library is also going to have children’s activities, and Magic Castle entertainer Dennis Forel, a balloon animal specialist who can create over 100 animals with balloons, will also be in attendance to entertain kids.
A Pick Up Stix Dragon and Chuck E. Cheese mascot will also be on hand to greet families and pose for pictures.
The Valencia Marketplace is located at 25888 The Old Rd, Stevenson Ranch.
