Veterans Day Ceremony To Honor Santa Clarita Valley Veterans

During the annual Veterans Day Ceremony this weekend, Santa Clarita Valley veterans and currently-serving military and their families will be honored by the Santa Clarita City Council.

Community members are invited to the ceremony, which will include a special reading by Robert Heinisch as a sign of respect for those missing in action (MIA) or prisoners of war (POW).

During the ceremony, flags by the Knights of Columbus Santa Clarita Assembly and Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 355, will be changed.

There will also be an opportunity to hear from World War II veteran Lee Shulman, Chaplain Amos Clemmons and Ted Olsen, who will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Performances by Savannah Burrows and Gil Karson will include patriotic songs for the event.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Historical Plaza, located at 24275 N. Walnut Street.
