Thanks to a donation of five guitars from the WiSH Education Foundation, Sierra Vista Junior High students can now play to a new tune.

The donation follows WiSH’s STEAM theme for the year, with an emphasis on the arts.
Music teacher Mike Copenhaver received five guitars, including four acoustic basses and a banguitar with a banjo body with a 6-string guitar neck.
“We already had several guitars for the kids to learn on,” Copenhaver said. “But this donation of the acoustic basses helps teach the kids about the low range as well.”
WiSH also provided other supplies, such as extra strings and tuners.
“We are thrilled to be making a difference right in the classroom where it’s needed,” said Amy Daniels, executive director of WiSH. “To see the joy on the student’s faces is the greatest gift of all.”
WiSH supports programs and initiatives in the Hart District that are not funded by tax dollars alone.
