Friday

Community members are invited to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter character to the store location to launch a month-long countdown for the special script edition of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child- Parts One and Two.”

The store will become its own wizarding world of fun beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday with a trivia

contest, photo booth, special themed items in the Café and more.

“We’re going to try and bring back the magic for a new generation,” said Diane Sands Brooks, a community relations manager for Barnes and Noble.

The night functions as a reminder to all the midnight Harry Potter bookstore release events that fans of series can remember, according to Brooks.

Valencia’s Barnes and Noble will have it’s own midnight release for the new Harry Potter special script edition available July 31st, said Brooks.

Saturday

Food lovers can get a chance to meet Author Judy Polinsky Saturday as she launches her historic recipe book  “Delicious Rose-Flavored Desserts – a Modern and Fragrant Take on Classic Recipe.”

“The book is incredibly beautiful and it’s a lesson in history on food and the 18th century,” said Brooks.

Guests will learn about cooking with roses from a home garden, how roses were historically used in recipes and 18th century recipes to enjoy today.

Polinsky is scheduled to be there from noon to around 2 p.m., according to Brooks.

Sunday

Lancaster Author Trevor Murray will be returning the bookstore for a “Special Storytime” as he reads his book “Daddy What If I?” Sunday afternoon.

“It’s a special children’s storytime and it’s an opportunity to talk about family values,” said Brooks.

The book is considered to be a confidence building story for parents and children, according to the bookstore’s press release for the event.

The family storytelling event begins at 2 p.m. and children of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents.
