Charges may be filed against juvenile in 2-acre burn.
A 12-year old boy admitted to starting a fire that burned just over two acres Saturday night in the wash behind Creekside Road and the Wm. S. Hart baseball fields.
The youngster was questioned by sheriff’s Arson and Explosive detectives and told them he had been playing with a lighter near dry brush Saturday evening. After questioning, he was released to his parents.
According to Sgt. Debbie Miller, charges may or may not be filed, depending on the recommendation of arson detectives.
The fire started just before 8 p.m. and was contained within the natural area along the creekbed. No one was injured and no businesses or structures were harmed by the flames or smoke.
