The Loose Goose was honored as VIA’s Rising Star, an award that recognizes a business making significant gains in the past 12 months. Accepting on behalf of The Loose Goose was Peter Goossens, founder and executive producer of the Loose Goose Wine Festival, which realized a 260 percent gain in attendance at last year’s festival. Goossens announced the opening of the Loose Goose World Headquarters in downtown Newhall and the pre-launch of the Loose Goose Wine Society.
College of the Canyons received top honors as Business of the Year. College trustee Bruce Fortine acknowledged President Dr. Dianne Van Hook and all employees for their efforts, which contributed to the college’s success this past year.
Connie Worden-Roberts, a founding member of VIA who now chairs the transportation committee, was presented with VIA’s first Lifetime Achievement Award. Kathy Norris, VIA President and CEO, presented the award paying tribute to Worden-Robert’s contributions throughout the years in furthering the goals of the organization.
