2013 Woman Of The Year Nominee: Susan Reynolds

Susan Reynolds
Senior Partner NewMarket Careers
Nominated by Domestic Violence Center of the SCV and Soroptimist Int’l of Greater SCV

Biography of Susan Reynolds:

Susan Reynolds grew up in a family business in the Midwest that served the local farmers. After graduating from high school at a young age, she attended the local community college. The communications department recommended her to the Illinois Department of Corrections (as an employee, not a resident!), where she became an illustrator for prison teaching materials. Graduating with a major in communications and graphics from Indiana she obtained her first employment in corporate communications. She has now managed the messages of executives as they’ve grown companies and closed plants, broken ground and rallied troops.  Employers and clients have included manufacturing firms, chemical companies, implement dealers, state fairs, steeplechases, distributors and entrepreneurs- even NASA. She has authored and conducted training programs including time and project management, performance appraisal skills, presentation skills, customer service strategies, and more. She writes on the subjects of organizational and career development as well as corporate politics. And in her spare time, she trains her young Doberman in Search & Rescue, as well as Pet Therapy. She also rides her palomino mare, having enjoyed horseback riding all her life.
