With the weekend weather expected to warm up, it’s time to break out the sun block and take part in some fun, food, and entertainment in the springtime sun.
The Child and Family Center’s 23rd Annual Taste of the Town festival is set to take place on Sunday and is sure to be a food lover’s paradise. With more than 40 restaurants catering and wine and beer being served, all guests will get the chance to sample some of our town’s delicacies.
Restaurants that are participating include Welsh Baker, Schreiner’s Fine Sausages, Jill’s Cake Creations, Shave It, Sushiya Bar and Grill, Carmela Louise Café, and much more.
Besides the food and drinks, there will be entertainment provided by platinum recording artist Mark LeVang and Friends and silent and live auctions will take place during the day. There will also be an “opportunity” drawing and the chance to win a 1-carat diamond from Classic Designs Jewelry or a Princess Cruises cruise.

Have no one to watch the kids on Sunday? Gymnastics Unlimited has paired up with the Child and Family Center to present the “open gym” childcare. Guests can drop their kids off at anytime during the festival’s hours for no extra charge.
“To get all of that for a $60 dollar ticket, there’s not an event that is that inexpensive for a charity, and once you’re in, it’s all inclusive,” said Nicole Stinson, Chair of Auctions for Taste of the Town.
Besides giving you a chance to get out of the house this weekend, Taste of the Town benefits the Child and Family Center. Proceeds from Taste of the Town go towards the Child & Family Center’s programs, which include outpatient counseling, school-based counseling, crisis intervention services, and drug and alcohol prevention. The Outreach programs reach thousands of residents each year. The children and families served are all local residents living in your community.
“It’s a great value to help a great cause. Everybody will be able to use, at some time in their life, the Child and Family Center. They support so many families here in town,” said Stinson.
Taste of the Town will be located at Mann Biomedical Park, 25104 Rye Canyon Loop in Santa Clarita. The festival will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1.
General Admission tickets cost $60. The event is all inclusive and for adults only.
