To many, walking to help fight Cancer is a big deal
[view:node_ad=5]Relay For Life, a non profit event to benefit the American Cancer Society, is a big one here in Santa Clarita.
Not only did the event raise $442,000 last year, but it brought out teams of Santa Clarita helpers that walked around a track for a full day and night.
This year, the group hopes to beat last year’s astonishing benchmark by raising half a million dollars.
Of course, no single person walks for that long; the team itself will split the duties and get sponsorships for their walking.
This weekend at Central Park in Saugus, the Relay for Life will again take to the track to make a statement, find a cure, remember those lost to cancer, and celebrate those who have survived.
So if you pass by Central Park between June 2nd and June 3rd, you will likely see a group of people dedicated to a cause and joined together in the memory of loved ones. Feel free to stop by the event and see what they do, because next year’s relay will be here before you know it!
