The second suspect in Tuesday’s attempted door-kick burglary in Canyon Country was arrested Wednesday after his alleged accomplice ratted him out and his dad turned him in.
SCV Sheriff’s Detective Jim Anderson confirmed that a 17-year-old male was taken into custody Wednesday at about 9:30 a.m. Deputies believe the boy, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, is one of two people who kicked in the door of a Sandy Drive home Tuesday morning in hopes of burgling it.
To the suspects’ apparent surprise, their intended victim was home and they ran away. Anthony Hall, 19, was arrested soon after deputies arrived.
Anderson said Wednesday that Hall identified his accomplice by name. Deputies placed a call to the boy’s house in Canyon Country and spoke with his father, who subsequently turned him in, the detective said.
