“It’s an exciting project in the heart of Old Town Newhall,” said Ben Jarvis, associate planner with the city of Santa Clarita.
The hotel will take up about a half-acre of area, Jarvis said.
It will be located at the northwest corner of Railroad Avenue and 5th Street, across the street from Newhall Ice, Jarvis said.
The applicant still has to have their plan checked and get permits before construction can begin, planners said.

I think the public should be allowed to see the plans especially the number and SIZE of the parking spaces. There should be no allowance for parking on any of the streets in Newhall. I hope the planning commission takes a good look and also listens to input from common sense people.
