A Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station vehicle containing two deputies collided with another car after the second vehicle appeared to have pulled out in front of the Sheriff’s Department vehicle, said Lt. Hahnlein of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
“A deputy was rolling to a call and it appears that someone pulled out in front of him,” Hahnlein said. “The other car spun out a little bit and another car skidded to a stop and barely hit the bumper.”
Reports of the incident came in around 2 pm Saturday.
The three people in the car that was struck by the patrol car were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, along with the two Sheriff’s Station deputies, Hahnlein said.
“Five people were involved altogether,” Hahnlein said. “Everybody has a complaint of pain and everyone was hospitalized. We have traffic services going over the whole scene.”
At 3:15 pm Friday, Railroad Avenue remained closed in one direction.
The names of the two deputies and the three others involved in the accident have not been released at this time.
