A community joins together to remember and help others.

A blood drive honoring the late musician Brody Rennels will be held at the Santa Clarita United Methodist Church.

Rennels played the drums for several musicals at the Canyon Theatre guild.

The BloodMobile will be on hand for the September 13 event, from 9 to 2 p.m., in the parking lot of the church.

The church is located at the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Urbandale Avenue.

Donors will receive a coupon for a pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream.

Participants must be at least 17-years-old, have no tattoos within the last 12 months, and way over 110 pounds.

It is also recommended that donors drink plenty of fluids, eat a nutritional meal, and be in general good health.
