The whole city was behind Canyon High School as they played De La Salle of Concord for the California State Championship game.
Route 66 hosted a pep rally the night before the game, and then on Saturday it was off to the Home Depot center for the game.
They won by a score of 27 to 13.
In celebration of their astounding victory, the city hosted a parade in their honor. The parade route began at Canyon High, and proceeded down Whites Canyon to Sierra Vista Jr. High, where speeches from Coach Harry Welch, Mayor McLean and others rustled up the crowd into a thunderous roar.
