Action Family Counseling is granting a randomly selected person, or a friend or family member of that person, free treatment on April 20, said Scott Quashen from Action Family Counseling.

To be eligible for selection, residents are being asked to “share” and then “tag” someone in Action Family Counseling’s Facebook post.

“We decided to use social media to save lives,” Quashen said.

The beauty of this post stems from how one will be selected, through being tagged in a loved one’s share of the post, Quashen said. Rather than people simply entering their own name to “win” something online, we have created a system in which will spread love and awareness to those in need.

“We believe that people suffering from addiction and alcoholism being tagged in a post like this may be a factor in pushing them into getting help, which may ultimately save their lives,” Quashen said. “Not only will one person be randomly selected for free treatment on April 20, but every person who is tagged in another’s post will know that they are not fighting this battle alone, and that others love them.”

As of Thursday morning, the post has been shared over 50 times.
