Acton Shooting Death Investigated By Detectives As Homicide

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the circumstances around a shooting death that took place in Acton on Wednesday afternoon.

“Homicide (Bureau) is still on scene,” said Deputy Kim Manatt of Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau in downtown Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at the 1500 block Eagle Butte Road.

Detectives responded to a the report of a shooting at 2 p.m., Manatt said. The victim died at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released, however Sheriff’s Department officials confirmed that it was a man who was killed..

There are currently no suspects in custody. The case is being investigated by Lt. Francisco of the Homicide Bureau.

“I believe it’s in a residential area,” Manatt said, describing the scene as “near a dirt road.”

No other details are being released at this time.
