           FOR I-5 HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE (HOV) CARPOOL LANE  —
          INCLUDES FULL SOUTHBOUND I-5 CLOSURE EARLY MORNING 5-21

      Sylmar/North San Fernando Valley – The California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following additional lanes, ramps
and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) from May 17 through May 20
— as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle,
(HOV), or carpool lanes on northbound and southbound I-5 from Route 118 to
Route 14: ·     From 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 18:

   The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard
   The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
   The Laurel Canyon Bouelvard on-ramp to northbound I-5

·     From 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 18:

   One to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Route 118 to I-405
   One to four lanes of northbound I-5 from Balboa Boulevard to Route 14

·     From 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 to 5 a.m. Thursday, May 19:
   The southbound Route 14 connector to southbound I-5
   Two to four lanes of southbound I-5 from Route 14 to Balboa Boulevard
             

From 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 to 5 a.m. Thursday, May 19:

      One to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to Route 118
      The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Balboa Boulevard

·     From 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19 to 6 a.m. Friday, May 20:

      Two to four lanes of southbound I-5 from Route 14 to Roxford Street
      The westbound Route 210 connector to northbound I-5
      The southbound I-5 connector to the southbound truck routes to I-5
and Route 14
      The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5
      The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Paxton Street
      The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound Route 118
      The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound Route 210
      The southbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
      The San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps to southbound I-5

·     From 10 p.m. Thursday, May 19 to 5 a.m. Friday, May 20:

      One to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to Route 118

·     From 6 p.m. Friday, May 20 to noon Saturday, May 21:

   The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5
   The Paxton Street on-ramp to southbound I-5
   The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound Route 118
