Deputies to step up patrols.

On Thursday at around 6:00pm, residents in the Sand Canyon area reported seeing a burgundy Ford van with Arizona license plate CF24614 dropping off several scamming solicitors.

According to residents, the solicitors tried to use a number of fabrications to try and solicit funds from the residents including saying they were from a charity, with the Red Cross, or selling magazines.

Reportedly, when they were told 'no', they became hostile, aggressive, and even attempted to push the door to a residence open.

KHTS has been told the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Deputies will be on the lookout for the scammers, and will be increasing their patrols in the area.
