An Agua Dulce man died Friday when his car went off the road and into a ditch off Sierra Highway.

According to the CHP, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Stephen L. Beidle, 59, was driving his 2007 Nissan Maxima northbound on Sierra Highway, south of Penman Road.

For unknown reasons, Beidle’s car left the roadway and traveled down into a drainage ditch, colliding with concrete drainage supports.

Los Angeles County Fire personnel and the CHP responded to the crash site and found that Beidle had died at the scene from his injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
