The jury was hung on Keene’s murder charge, but he agreed to accept his sentence in exchange for not being retried.

In October 2012, Keene was found guilty on three of four felony counts: gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol level more than 0.08 causing injury.

In August 2011, Lindlief, 56, and her fiance were walking their dogs on Mabana Street near the Agua Dulce Airpark around 8 p.m. when a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado came up behind her and hit her, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

Lindlief sustained major injuries including a head wound and difficulty breathing. She was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where she later died, hospital officials confirmed.

The pickup truck driver was identified as Dennis Keene, 63, of Agua Dulce. The CHP report said Keene failed to see Lindlief because he was intoxicated.
