Thursday morning, a plane dropped from the sky and slammed into the ground near Sierra Highway, as emergency crews rushed to the scene….

The crews didn’t realize it was part of a stunt for a movie shoot.  The California Highway Patrol apparently did not have any knowledge of the stunt prior to the crash.
