A Santa Clarita Valley Life Coach sat down recently to discuss how dealing with difficult people can leave any of us stressed out and irritated, and gives other options to react to these situations.

“We’re choosing to see them that way and we’re choosing to be frustrated by our experience with them,” said Alex Urbina, Santa Clarita Life Coach. “They are not difficult because it is the truth, they are difficult because that is your experience of them.”
Having personal power is a way to deal with these challenging situations, when we can deal with them ourselves, we can grow from the situation, according to Urbina.
“You are the meaning maker, you can have five other people that don’t see that person as difficult,” Urbina said.
When people grow from these situations, it may even allow you to be compassionate towards these “difficult” people, and accept them and then interact more easily with them.
“You have to reach a certain level of consciousness to be able to see people as not difficult,” Urbina said.
You are the person that puts difficult people in the “difficult” box, said Urbina. You are the person that chooses to be angry, frustrated, annoyed because of some others actions. However if you take a moment to look at the situation you can shake it off in a sense.
“You are the one who decides whether or not to get stressed out,” Urbina said. “Once you realize that you can let go of so called difficult people go and not let them affect you. You can’t control people but you can control if and how it will affect you.”
