The Providence-Holy Cross/Facey medical building at the corner of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard was evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat. Sheriff’s, accompanied by Facey employees, conducted a floor-to-floor search of the building and found no suspicious devices.
Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station said that the threat was received by Facey officials shortly before 10 a.m. Deputies immediately responded to the location and offices in the building were evacuated.
Facey employees accompanied Sheriff’s on the search because they were familiar with the facilities and could alert deputies to anything out of the ordinary. Facey officials announced that they will re-open for business as usual immediately.
“They can view this as learning experience,” said Sgt. Ronald Price.
