Suspect doesn't get far from home in Canyon Country neighborhood.

A Canyon Country man was arrested Sunday morning after a short pursuit.

Lt. Tom Bryskie told KHTS that a call was received at 9:27 a.m. reporting a reckless drunk driver in Canyon Country.

Deputies responding quickly found Anthony Morejon, 18, driving a car that had been reported stolen through the neighborhood. A pursuit ensued, lasting about eight minutes, according to Bryskie, with Morejon dumping the car and fleeing on foot.

Several witnesses helped deputies track him down and he was caught on Gazely Street.

Morejon is being held on suspicion of auto theft at the Santa Clarita station, in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
