Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have arrested and charged a suspect in an Aug. 19 burglary in Saugus.
Matthew Swaim, 29, of Canyon Country, was arrested Sept. 7 and charged with the Aug. 19 residential burglary.
The night of Aug. 19, Swaim broke in to the residence while the owner was home, according to Detective Dan Finn of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Swaim fled, but not before the witnesses identified him, Finn said.
“We obtained a search warrant after the suspect had been identified,” he said. “We found Swaim at his residence (Wednesday) morning and made the arrest. He went without a fight.”
