Americana At The Antioch

The Antioch Art Connection will host a night of music as it brings three singers together for a family friendly show.

Trish Lester, T. Dan Hofstedt and Linda Geleris will take the stage at the Antioch in Newhall, on Friday July 31, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The three will perform solo as well as in harmony bringing together their different styles of music.

Trish Lester cooks up truly fresh Americana music from the wisdom of life experience, often spicing it with satire or humor.

Reminiscent of Kate Wolf and Mary Chapin Carpenter, Trish’s engaging, memorable Americana songs leave listeners laughing, crying and humming along.

The title track on her CD “Plymouth Belvedere” will be included this fall on a compilation produced by the National Public Radio show, “Car Talk.”

Her tribute song to the troops, “Thank a Soldier, ” currently plays on five patriotic Websites and in a New York airport.

T. Dan Hofstedt learned the art of Hawaiian slack-key guitar as a teenager in Honolulu. Since then he has composed more than 250 songs, many of which are infused with a distinctive laid back island style.

T. Dan’s instrumentals have been described as a “gentle breeze blowing along a north shore beach at sunset.”

The lyrics to his Americana songs are family-friendly personal stories that he sings with heart-felt emotion.

With a smoky voice, easy rock beat and catchy hooks, Linda Geleris writes unique and honest songs spanning a broad range of subjects and emotions.

Her song “Call Me Crazy” is featured in the Columbia Tri-star Film, “Implicated.”

Between playing live shows in support of her CD “If I Only Had a Minute” and showcasing everywhere from playhouse and college quad to Hollywood with Women on the Move, Linda enjoys communicating through song to an ever-expanding audience.

She is the founder of SongNet,org a free network aimed at helping songwriters grow through peer networking and monthly visits by music industry professionals.
