County of Los Angeles Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has called for a special public outreach meeting for residents in the Antelope Valley regarding the County’s road management program of Angeles Forest area roads during the winter rain season.
In addition to the Angeles Forest roads management update, County officials will also discuss the construction worked scheduled for the final phases of the $3.4 million road improvement project for Sierra Highway from State route 14 to Pearblossom Highway.
This outreach meeting is part of a multi-communications directive issued by Supervisor Antonovich to keep Antelope Valley area residents affected by road closures in and around the Angeles Forest burn area informed on the County’s action to close and re-open the roads in response to inclement winter weather and the threat of debris flows.
“Making the extra effort to inform residents on road closures and re-openings is vital information for Antelope Valley residents who travel these corridors,” said Supervisor Antonovich.
The public outreach meeting will be held Thursday, December 17, 2009, from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the City of Palmdale’s Larry Chibole Cultural Center – Joshua Room. The Center is located at 38350 Sierra Highway, Palmdale, CA 93550.
County Residents are encouraged to attend this meeting to hear about the plans for construction on Sierra Highway and road maintenance in the Angeles Forest.
