The service will honor America’s only current prisoner of war, Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.

Sergeant Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban aligned Afghanistan Haqqani network in June of 2009.

Sergeant Bergdahl is currently being held in Pakistan.

Memorial Day committee member, Bill Reynolds believes that this year’s service could be the best yet.

“I think this year’s Memorial service will be more impressive than in years past. There are many new features this year. Our Memorial Day services are well received around the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Bill Reynolds.

The event will feature two parachutists sailing in while flying American and POW flags.

The service will be Monday, May 27th, 2013 at 10 a.m.

The service will be held at the Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary 23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA 91321.

Please join us in honoring our veterans, current military personnel, and prisoners of war.
