Annual Pet Vaccination Clinic Coming To Sports Complex

dogThe City of Santa Clarita in cooperation with Los Angeles County is sponsoring the Annual Pet Vaccination Clinic at the City’s Sports Complex’s Canine Country Dog Park from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9. Various services for dogs and owners will be offered including low-cost vaccinations, license renewal and free micro-chipping for pets.

Additionally, L.A. County Animal Control will bring in adoptable dogs to the clinic. All dogs will be immunized, fixed, micro-chipped and in need of loving homes. PETCO will also have a booth set up with treats and giveaways where they will be accepting donations for their charity, PETCO Foundation.

Vaccinations offered include a six-in-one vaccination including Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenze and Parvovius for $14, the Bordetella vaccination for $15 and Rabies vaccination for $10. Rabies vaccinations are required by state law for all dogs more than four months old. Pet micro-chipping will also be offered free of charge.

Owners interested in licensing must provide proof of spay or neutering to renew or receive a pet license at the clinic and are encouraged to bring a Certificate of Sterility. Licensing for spayed or neutered pets is $20 and $60 for unaltered pets. Owners must fill out or bring an Exemption Application to qualify for a Non-Altered license. Seniors will receive a discount and can obtain pet licenses for $7.50.

All dogs must be on appropriate leashes with adequate collars to receive a vaccination or a license. Both cash and check will be accepted at the pet clinic. Owners interested in purchasing multiple services by check must bring a separate check for each service.

The City’s Canine Country Dog Park is located within the City’s Sports Complex at 20850 Center Pointe Parkway. For more information on the 2011 Pet Vaccination Clinic, contact Jennifer Killian at (661) 286-4193 or visit
