The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 11:30 a.m., at the Hyatt Valencia grand ballroom, hosted by the City Council.
The council will discuss what the city is currently working on, how funds are being spent, and what types of programs and projects are being planned for the upcoming year.
“Join me and the City Council as we take a look at a substantial list of accomplishments and share future goals at the State of the City luncheon,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “This year’s event will be special for Santa Clarita as we showcase the City’s projects and priorities and how residents and business owners can connect with us via social media platforms.”
The theme, “Like Santa Clarita,” will highlight the city’s multiple social media platforms and how residents can stay connected with city staff through various networking tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.
The city’s increased presence on social media is part of an ongoing “effort to stay in contact with the community,” Kellar said.
“Many of our citizens rely solely on social media for their information having to do with all levels of news,” he said. “We have made sure that we do a very good job of providing all updated information for our citizens to receive.”
The Luncheon itself will provide several updates on current projects, including the McBean Park and Ride, recent annexations, the Santa Clarita Public Library, public safety, traffic improvements, beautification and upgraded landscape median projects.
Guests will also get a look at upcoming projects, such as new public art, the widening of the Golden Valley Road Bridge and new monuments and signage.
Tickets are still available at $40 per person or $400 for a table of ten, and reservations are required.
