Bill signed by Governor

[view:node_ad=5]Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich issued the following statement on Governor Schwarzenegger’s signing of Assembly Bill 714, authored by Assemblyman Bill Maze at the Supervisor’s request:  

 

“When children who are adopted return to foster care, this vital new law allows access to records of their birth family members whose circumstances may have changed.”

 

“Assembly Bill 714 will allow all 58 California counties to serve previously adopted children in the same manner in which they seek permanency for all older youth – correcting a flawed system that prohibited alternative permanency for a previously adopted child within the birth family when circumstances change.”
