Antonovich Hosts First High Desert Corridor JPA Meeting

Joint Powers Authority Meets Today at 2 PM

Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt are scheduled to hold their first Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Meeting today at 2 PM. The meeting will take place at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration in Los Angeles.

The JPA was formed by the initiative of Supervisor Antonovich to bring the Counties of Los Angeles and San Bernardino into a single-purpose agency to overcome institutional challenges presented by this interregional project that will connect State Route 14 in Palmdale to Interstate 15 in Victorville.  The goal of the JPA is to develop an innovative financial plan and coordinate funding for building the corridor on an accelerated timetable.

“The High Desert Corridor, combined with an inland port and a fully-operating LA/Palmdale Airport, will create the infrastructure necessary to improve mobility, safety and air quality for the entire region,” said Antonovich.
