The City of Santa Clarita and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Clarita is encouraging residents to apply for a position on the Planning Commission, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission, the Arts Commission or the Open Space Preservation District Financial Accountability Audit Panel (FAAP).

There are three 4-year positions available on both the commissions and the panel. Each appointee will serve a four-year term that will expire on July 31, 2014.

Positions are also available on the Newhall Redevelopment Committee. There are six 4-year positions that will expire in January 2011.

The deadline for submitting an application to the City Clerk’s office, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 304, is 5:00pm on Friday, June 18. All applicants must also submit three letters of recommendation with their application.

Applications for all vacancies will be available as of Friday, May 14. Applicants must be 18 years or older and must maintain their principal residence in the City of Santa Clarita during their term of office. Evening availability is also required.
