The Southern Pacific Railroad arrived in the Santa Clara River Valley in 1887 and during its march to the sea, built several common standard depots along its route. Depots were located from Saugus to Ventura and over time, connected Los Angeles to San Francisco with its new coastal route.
Historian Jean-Guy Dube will give a talk on the Southern Pacific Railroad Depots of the Santa Clara River Valley before the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10.
