Total Financial Solutions Safer Money Hour With Arif Halaby – 4/7/2015
Hour 1 – First and foremost, retirement is about doing what you want to do, and working (if you’d like to) jobs that you get pleasure out of. Its important not to put limitations on your future, such as refusing to have children for risk of not being able to afford college. Plan to keep your life as fulfilled while you’re building to retirement as it will be when you actually retired. Some people regret retiring, but it isn’t the reason you might think. It’s about the “lifetime of Saturdays”, the boredom, that newly-retired folks forget to consider. Arif and Jeff urge listeners to have things to look forward to when preparing for retirement.
Hour 2 – Many people feel compelled to leave money and wealth for their children, and they save and save without ever taking that trip to Europe or buying that new car they need. There are ways to plan for the inevitable, yet still do things now. One important way is to look into life insurance. Arif and Jeff urge listeners to take measures to stay in control of their money (keeping it tax-free) and what they leave to children, etc. A revocable living trust is a great way that can be done, keeping control with the policy holder for how the money will be dispersed.
