“Around the Barn,” KHTS’s weekly western radio show has now been on the air for three years and in that short time the show has also been nominated for WMA Radio Show of the Year twice.
Recently featured on The Western Way, a publication for western music performers. The magazine held a column about their successes as a young western radio show in the Santa Clarita Valley.
“When we found out we were nominated for the second year in a row last year, we were just ecstatic,” said Nancy Pitchford-Zhe, Co-host of Around the Barn. “Our goal this year is to win it!”

The program airs Saturdays at 9 a.m. and is co-hosted by Nancy Pitchford-Zhe of Heads Up Therapy on Horseback, Bobbi Jean Bell of the OutWest boutique in Old Town Newhall, Saugus resident Julie Pomilia, a second-grade teacher in Castaic and the granddaughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and veteran KHTS host Mike Dowler.
