Patrol deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station took nearly 20 pounds of marijuana off of the streets just before 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Rickey Evanoff, 30, was arrested during a routine investigation at the Days Inn Hotel in the 31000 block of Castaic Road.

Evanoff, of Carson City, Nevada, was in possession of 20 pounds of marijuana. He was arrested on felony charges of possession for sale and transportation of marijuana and a misdemeanor charge of possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.The estimated street value of the marijuana confiscated is $80,000.

He was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

This arrest brings the 2010 total of reported drug-related incidents and arrests to nearly 1,200 in the Santa Clarita Valley.
