A new art festival gives residents a chance to show their talent.
Artists will come from near and far to showcase their talents at the “Art n’ the Park Fest,” held at William S. Hart Park.
The festival is hosted by the County of Los Angeles and will feature artists of all genres.
“Money is not an issue, profit is not an issue, to bring artists together and have a wonderful event, that’s what were trying to do,” said Al Ewing, recreation services leader and event coordinator for the county.
The Santa Clarita Valley Quilters Guild will be anchoring the show, bringing large pieces of Folk art to present in Hart Hall.
In addition to the Quilters Guild there will also be an arts and crafts section, featuring artists and different associations, Folk singers and bands, a fine arts section, a vintage car show, and a wild animal presentation.
The event is open to the public and will feature something for the entire family.
“This will be a polite stripped-down event, and will be the template for future art in the park events,” said Ewing.
The event is still looking for artists, and those interested are able to register all the way up to the day of the festival.
The festival takes place on Saturday August 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to artists of all mediums.
