The Art Walk on Main Street features local artists and musicians on the first Thursday of every month. Attendees can support local talent, buy fresh, locally-grown produce at the Farmer’s Market (Thursdays 3-7 pm) and view art made in Santa Clarita along Main Street.
The Art Walk is a new addition to the Farmer’s Market in downtown Newhall. The fine western entertainment will include SCAA member Evie Cook’s exhibition of inspirational canvases at OutWest. Presently she paints, does graphic design, and gives art lessons in media and computer art. Cook has won many awards in several different media categories. Her portfolio can be previewed at www.studiobohemienne.com. John Bergstrom will be guitar picking and singing in front of OutWest.
Manak Khamvongsa, SCV area resident, guitar teacher and performer will provide entertainment at the reception. Originally from Thailand, Manak’s solo repertoire includes traditional classical Spanish guitar, jazz arrangements and original compositions.

Kaczmar teaches art at the SCV Senior Center. “This is a great deal for artists (at any level) and you don’t have to be a senior to take classes! It is $40 for a 3-month semester and you can come 3 days a week to learn from 3 different teachers,” she says. “It’s an outstanding bargain.”
Canyon Theatre Guild (CTG) is located at 24242 Main St, Newhall. Phone 661-799-2702 for theatre times. CTG produces ten full-scale productions each season. As each performance changes, so does the artwork, which is presented by members of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association. Kaczmar’s art will be featured in the from July 2 to September 3, concurrently with the performances of Neil Simon’s hit comedy, The Odd Couple.
