Artists Will Pop For This Exhibit

bubblewrapThe City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Arts Commission are seeking artist submissions to develop an exhibition celebrating the 50th “birthday” of Bubble Wrap.

Artists’ will submit artwork using Bubble Wrap as a component of an art piece, and at least 20 pieces will be selected for inclusion in the exhibit.

“Bubble-licious: All Bubbles Are Not Created Equal” is an Art in Public Places program created by the City of Santa Clarita.

All artist submissions will be reviewed and selected by the Santa Clarita Arts Commission Public Art Sub Committee.

The selected works will be exhibited in the Town Center Art Space, which is located at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, from September 10, to January 5, 2011.

The postmark deadline for application materials is August 1.

The Public Art Sub Committee will make selections August 10 and artists must deliver their completed artwork to City Hall by August 20.

Artists interested in being considered should submit a full color photocopy, photograph, or CD of the artwork(s) with dimensions, material(s) used, approximate weight, and title.

A self- addressed stamped envelope must be included for the return of application materials.
